VIP-REGISTRATION STARTS  MAY 15, 14:00 CET

The championship organization offers 30 VIP-entrees. This entitles free accommodation and board charter.
 
Registration to apply for a VIP-entry opens May 15, 14.00 CET (Stockholm time). The same time the standard registration for the championships opens. Registration is made into the MyKona-system together with information.
 
The final decision on who to accept as VIP-entry will be based in the following criteria:
1.      Date of registration and payment
2.      Nationality (one male and one female per nation will be given a VIP-entry)
3.      International and national ranking
 
All sailors that are not given a VIP-entry are welcome to register for a normal entry where they either bring their own equipment or charter equipment.

NOTICE OF RACE

1. RULES

1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing.
1.2 No national prescriptions will apply.
1.3 Rule 42 and Rule 67 shall apply. This changes Appendix B.
1.4 If there is a conflict between this Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions, the Sailing instructions
will take precedence.
1.5 If there is a conflict between languages, the English text will take precedence.

2. ADVERTISING


2.1 International Sailing Federation (ISAF) Regulation 20 Advertising Code shall apply.
2.2 Boards may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority.

3. ELIGIBILITY and ENTRY


3.1 Competitors must be members of of a club.
3.2 The regatta is open to all competitors in the following divisions and in accordance with the Kona
Class Rules:

Online registration will open May 15 14:00 CET, 2016.

4. CHARTER BOARDS/RIGS


4.1 A limited number of boards/rigs are available for charter, so early bookings are recommended. The
charter fee is 200€  (1870 sek)
(100€ (935 sek)for boards and 100€ (935 sek for rigs).

4.2 Subsequent to the regatta, the charter boards/rigs may be purchased. For pre-orders, charter booking

5. FEES


5.1 If registration and payment is received by May 15 14:00 CET, 2016, the required fee is 100€ (935 sek) per
competitor.

5.2 Registration and payment received after June 29 is 150€(1400 sek).

5.3 Online registration closes on Aug 20th , 2016. On-site registration, only cash, will be 200€ (1870 sek).

5.4 Payment method is Account or Swish (release 29 May)
5.5 Fee includes four lunches, two dinners and Welcome party.

6.2 Competitors who are not registered at least 1 hour before their start may be scored Did Not Start
(DNS).
6.3 A maximum of 12 course races are scheduled to be sailed,

7. MEASUREMENT


7.1 Equipment shall be produced by a Licensed Manufacturer. Equipment cannot have been
subsequently altered (other than what is permitted in class rules) and shall display the official ISAF logo
as applied by the manufacturer.
7.2 Equipment inspection may take place at any time during the regatta.
8. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
8.1 The Sailing Instructions for the Championship series will be available at registration.
8.2 The Sailing Instructions for the long distance race will be available at registration.

9. VENUE


9.1 The regatta will be held at the Malmo, Sweden
9.2 Racing will take place on the waters on Örresund, in front
of the Ribbersborgsbadet

10. COURSES
10.1 The courses for the Championship series will be defined in the sailing instructions.
10.2 The course for the long distance race will be defined in the sailing instructions.

11. SCORING


CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES
11.1 Four races are required to be completed to constitute a championship.
11.2(a) When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a board’s series score will be the total of her race
scores.
(b) When 5 to 11 races have been completed, a board’s series score will be the total of her race scores
excluding her worst score.
(c) When 12 races have been completed, a board’s series score will be the total of her race scores
excluding her two worst scores.

CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES


13.1 The overall winner of the Championship Series will be declared the 2016 Kona One Youth World Champion.
13.2 Prizes will be presented to the 1st 3 place boats, in all divisions.

14. BUOYANCY


14.1 If the personal buoyancy will be prescribed, each competitor shall wear, above the waist, a jacket,
harness, or vest with a minimum buoyancy of 4kgs.
14.2 The buoyancy may be tested with a metal weight of 4kgs which shall remain supported for a
minimum of 5 minutes in fresh water.

15. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY


Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The
organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained
in conjunction with or prior to, during or after the regatta.

16. MEDIA


When participating in the event, a competitor automatically grants the organizing authority and the
sponsors of this regatta, the right in perpetuity, to make, use and show, from time to time and at their
discretion - any motion pictures, still motion pictures and live, taped or filmed television and other
reproductions of him/her during the period of the competition without compensation.
