1. EVENT


1.1 The Competition will be held from Saturday 9th of September to sunday 10th of September 2017.
1.2 This Competition is Level no. 2 Event factor : 1.
 
 

2. ORGANIZER

2.1 The Competition will be organized by Djursholms Seglarklubb for and on behalf of the Swedish Sailing Federation (SSF) and www.konaone.com (mainsponsor)                   
 

3. VENUE

3.1 The event will be held at Värtan, Stockholm.
3.2 Conditions to be expected - winds 6-20 knots, water temperature 15-20 C, air
      temperature 10-15 C, waves normally 0-0,3 m in september

 

4. RULES


4.1   This is an event governed by the Swedish Sailing Federation (SSF).
4.1.1 The ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing.
4.1.2 The Kona Class Rules .
4.1.3 No National Authority prescriptions will apply.

4.2 If there is a conflict between the Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions (SI's), the

      SI's shall take precedence.
4.3 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence.
4.4. Sail sizes and weight groups:
The division of weight groups for Yellow, Blue and Green class that has been applied in the Swedish Kona Cup for 2012 is also valid for this competition.The following weight divisions apply:
 
- Cadets class: Sail size up to and including 6,6 m2 and sailor age up to of 15 years (follows Class rules)

- Yellow class (7,4 m2): Sailors weight from 59 to 72 kg *)
- blue class (7,8 m2): Sailors weight from 65 to 75 kg *)
- Green class (8,2 m2): Sailors weight from 75 to 85 kg
- Red class (9,0 m2): Sailors weight from 85 and up (follows Class rules)
-Orange class (9:8) Sailors weight from 98 kg
 
*) Dispense to the Yellow class can be given to sailors with a weight below 59 kg if his/her capacity to handle the sail in all Kona racing winds i.e. up to 25 knots can be motivated.
There is no tolerance to the lower weight limits. Sailors weight can be checked by random sampling before racing and after each completed race.
The above weight division is valid for both female and males. A sailor of any division may choose one sail size down, but still compete in his/her weight class.

5. ADVERTISING


5.1 ISAF Regulation 20 - Advertising Code - shall apply.
5.2 Competitors may be required to carry advertising for event sponsors - both on their sails, and on a lycra vest if supplied by the organiser.
 
6. ELIGIBILITY & ENTRY
6.1 All entries shall meet the requirements of ISAF Regulation 19 - Eligibility Code.
6.2 Competitors shall be members of the National Class Association.
6.3 Membership formalities can be completed on site.
6.4 Entries shall be online via www.konaone.com


6.5 Competitors shall provide the following documentation prior to completing

      registration formalities on site:
- Proof of Entry registration formalities on site: Fee payment
- Evidence of valid third party insurance
- Proof of age
- Parental/legal Guardian Assent - for those under age of 18
- Medical Treatment Permission - for those under age of 18 or on their parents medical

   insurance policy.
6.6 Coaches and team support personnel shall provide the following documentation prior

      to completing registration formalities on site:
- Boat Driving Licence (if applicable)
 

7. FEES

Entry fee: 400 sek (45€) (incl bakett/dinner (1) and Lunch (2) days pay before: 1th September.
Late entryfee: 600 sek (110€)  after 7th September.

8. RACING FORMAT, CLASSES & DIVISIONS

8.2 All divisions will apply to the Kona Class Rules
8.2 The Competition shall be a "open entry" event.
8.2 The maximum "fleet size" shall be 100.

8.3 One fleet is Kona Class.

8.4The fleet may be split into two equal fleets followed by a final.

9.2 The scheduled time of the warning signal for the first race each day is 09.55 hrs.
9.3 The racing schedule may be altered, and is governed by the SI's.
 

10. EQUIPMENT


10.1 It is the responsibility of each competitor to ensure that his/her board and equipment conforms to its Class Rules.
10.2 Equipment checks may be made throughout the event.
10.3 Competitors shall bring their own equipment.

 

11. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS


11.1 The SIs' will be available at registration and posted on the official noticeboard.

12. COURSES

12.1 Courses shall be as prescribed in the Sailing Instructions and will be posted on the official notice board on the day of racing.

13. SCORING

13.1 Scoring will be in accordance with WCR Appendix A using the "Low Points Scoring System."
 

14. STORAGE OF EQUIPMENT

14.1 Please note that each competitor has his/her own responsibility of storing and safekeeping of equipment.
 

15. MEDALS AND PRIZES

15.1 Medals shall be awarded in each class/division.
15.2 Medals/trophees shall be awarded to the first three competitors, in each class/division.
 

16. BUOYANCY

16.1 Personal buoyancy is mandatory for all competitors.
 

17. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY


17.1 Competitors take part in all races at their own risk. The organiser, Kona Class association or any of their officials or representatives or any sponsors or their officials or representatives are not responsible, under any circumstances, for any damage, loss or injury either ashore or on the water either to persons or equipment, which may result.
17.2 Participation in this event, supporting events and in each race in them is at the sole discretion of the sailor and at his/her own risk. Notice is drawn to RRS 4.
 

18. INSURANCE

18.1 Competitors shall possess valid third party liability insurance with a minimum cover of 300,000 Euro.
 

19. MEDIA

19.1 In registering for the event, competitors automatically grant to the Organising Authority the right in perpetuity to make, use and show from time to time at their discretion, any motion pictures, still pictures and live, taped or filmed television and other reproduction of them, taken during the period of the event, for the said competition as defined in the Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions in which he/she participates without compensation.
