Return to Islamorade, Florida, Keys, USA Oct 28-2nd Nov 2016

Two years ago, Kona USA and the Guy Harvey Islander found the winning formula for a World-class championships. Kona brought the balanced and tight competition that has become the standard over the past ten years.

And the 22-acre Islander Resort with beach-level villas provided the social interaction, enhancing the Kona spirit and comradery.

Not to mention the two oceanfront swimming pools, a hot tub, shuffleboard, volleyball and a lighted, 200-foot fishing pier with amazing views of local marine life. With many of the meals being served right on site, it provided a unique and complete vacation package for Kona families. Islamorada lies halfway between Miami and Key West, less than two hours from Miami International Airport.

It offers a variety of activities from diving and snorkeling to offshore and backcountry fishing. Located nearby is a sea aquarium, diving museum, art galleries and numerous purveyors of tropical cuisine. The average air temperatures in early November are 82º F/28º C during the day and 72º F/22º C during the evening. The water temperatures are 79º F/26º C. Average wind speeds are 12 knots. Any question why we wanted to return to Islamorada and the Guy Harvey Islander?

Lodging

Guy Harvey's Islander Resort has reserved a block of rooms at a discounted rate for the Kona World Championships. When you call reservations at 305-664-2031305-664-2031, just give them the check-in date and the group name, Kona World Championships or the Group Code which is KONA. They will also honor these discounted rates for up to three nights before and three nights after the regatta. While the Islander should accommodate the majority of Kona racers and families, they also have the Bayside Townhomes nearby which offers two bedroom suites.

Travel

While Miami International is the closest major airport to Islamorada, Fort Lauderdale is only an additional half hour further and serviced by many of the discount, domestic airlines. Besides renting a car, there are several shuttle fleets that service Islamorada from both airports.

What a phenomenal setup !!!!

Congrats for the organization committee for the  choice of this Resort !!!!, awesome place.

I agree with the first comment that we could have improved information and communication overall. Would suggest more emails, easier link,  and broad text messaging option for next year.

BTW : Where is the Kona worlds next year ?

Thank you,

Eduardo
